Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Sanctions screening in Business Central

Sanctinel checks customers, vendors and contacts automatically against sanctions, PEP, insolvency and export-control lists — right inside Business Central. Hits appear on the record and can block document release. As an indication with a full audit trail.

Sanctinel is a screening aid, not legal advice. Competent authority in Germany: BAFA.

The risk

A sanctions breach hits management personally

⚖️

Personal liability

Breaches of export-control law can mean fines and personal liability for management — one missed hit is enough.

🔄

Lists change daily

Every EU sanctions package changes the lists. A one-off check at onboarding says nothing about today.

📄

Excel won't survive an audit

Manual matching in side spreadsheets is error-prone and provides no audit-proof record.

How it works

Screening without leaving Business Central

1

Automatic on every change

When a customer, vendor or contact is created or changed, Sanctinel screens automatically in the background.

2

Hits right on the record

The verdict (No hit / Review / Blocked) shows in the FactBox — with score, list and detail.

3

Document release blocked

On a sanctions hit, Sanctinel can block release of the order or purchase. Everything logged.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sanctinel really run natively in Business Central?

Yes. The app installs from Microsoft AppSource; checks run in the background as a service and hits appear directly on the record.

Does our data leave the system?

Only the master data needed for the check is sent to the Sanctinel service (Cloudflare, EU). No long-lived credentials in clear text.

Does Sanctinel block documents automatically?

Optionally: on a sanctions hit, document release can be blocked. Insolvency and dual-use warn but don't block.

Does this replace legal advice?

No. Sanctinel provides an indication with a log; the decision stays with you. The competent authority in Germany is BAFA.
